Nothing in this universe is unchanging. Change may be instantaneous, or may involve time-spans of several hundreds to millions of years. In the context of the Earth's history, we use the term ‘evolution’ to represent the progression of major changes that have shaped the planet; and the gradual development of the planet to the complex form that we know of today.

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedien t while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running and robbing the country.

It is believed that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old. And this Earth won’t be around for much longer if man continues to live as he has been. Through examples of man’s foolish actions, the author suggests ways of getting children to care better for our ‘home’.
