Punitive Actions to Teach Discipline and Subject

By parveenwrites | Sep 29, 2016

There has been news about teachers beating the children at school or scolding them badly. We who say that we have learnt from stric teachers can not favour the beatings today. It is not about child-rights or about human rights. I wish to ask, Do the Teachers beat kids because they know less of teaching (might be full of knowledge)? What approach a school should have about inculcating discipline and stopping Punitive Actions?

Teaching needs PASSION

By shivamstalent | Jun 17, 2016

"Education involves a passion to know that should engage us in a loving search for knowledge"
GOOD TEACHING is as much about passion as it is about reason. It’s about not only motivating students to learn, but teaching them how to learn, and doing so in a manner that is relevant, meaningful, and memorable. It’s about caring for your craft, having a passion for it, and conveying that passion to everyone, most importantly to your students.

How to build character strengths in children?

By aksheyjawa | Apr 25, 2016

Dear all,

Can you please suggest how a school can teach character strengths or spiritual qualities like - love/compassion, fearlessness, honesty, will power, calmness/peace, patience, selflessness, etc ? Idea is not just to teach but help them build these strengths also.

Online teacher communities

By junykwilfred | Mar 1, 2016

1. How important is it to have online teacher communities? Are they needed or not? Why or why not?
2. What would/should be the salient features of online teacher communities? Do they have to be regional/subject specific/ private-government teachers/ etc ?
3. What are the roles that teacher communities play - are there aspects that online platforms can address and not physical communities?

Can a school in India run without any affiliation till 8th (read description please)

By sudhendu | Nov 3, 2015

Hello Everyone,
Hope all are doing well.I am currently doing some research (on education in India) and in that, I am stuck around the question of "whether a K-10 school in India run without affiliation to any board (State board or IGSCE, CBSE, IB, etc.). The idea is to provide school with 'inbound' curriculum till 8th standard and then do affiliation with any board (for 9th and 10th standard, mainly to provide a valid exit certificate to student). We teach children our way till 8th standard. This is to develop a more dynamic and relative up-scaled courseware.

Get you kids learn history easily!

By preeti.kapoor | Nov 2, 2015

Hi all,

It is a fact that most students don't like learning history and always find ways to avoid it and students cannot even connect to the reason why the subject exists. For this we need to educate them and try to drive interest. Read blog to know how you can do this: http://gudskool.org/did-you-enjoy-learning-history-at-school/

One education video in different languages of India

By kishordubroo | Oct 20, 2015

Hello Everyone,

I am a software engineer, working in an IT company in Bangalore. As we all know that there is huge education video content available in YouTube but still our students and teachers are struggling to get the benefit out of it.

The main reason for this is "LANGUAGE".

Most of those videos are in English but India has 22 official languages!!

For example KhanAcademy is one of the most famous YouTube channels in the world with over 5000+ education videos.
