Methodical Counting

Resource Info

Basic Information

The focus of this Lesson Plan is methodical counting of objects, so that each object gets counted once. It also highlights some strategies to count correctly such as:

  • By moving the counted objects from one side to another once counted.
  • Using objects drawn on notebooks (which cannot be moved): by ticking off each counted drawing.

Besides teaching students different ways to count correctly, it highlights the concept of counting from a number other than 1.
